Lucia Limbach, 82, of Columbia, Maryland, formerly of Delaware and New Jersey, passed away July 21, 2025, following a long illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1942, in Neptune, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Privitera) Innacelli. Lucia was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic and earned her nursing degree from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Manhattan in 1963.
A devoted nurse and health care leader, Lucia began her career in the ICU at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She later specialized in geriatrics, serving as director of Nursing at Leisure Chateau in Lakewood and Regency Park in Hazlet. She retired as corporate clinical director, overseeing three nursing facilities.
Lucia was a woman of strong will, deep compassion and boundless creativity. She was known for her elegant sense of style, her love of reading – particularly history and mystery novels – and her passion for travel, music and the arts. She approached life with fierce independence and passed along her work ethic and resilience to her sons.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Hill (Michael Anne) of Haddonfield and Dr. Matthew Hill (Tracy) of Ellicott City, Maryland; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Hill, both of Texas, and Sarah and Samuel Hill, both of Ellicott City. She is also survived by her sister, Maria Mullevey (James) of Middletown; her sister-in-law, Rosalie Innacelli, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Limbach; her brother, Guido Innacelli; and her nephew, Christopher Innacelli.
A devout Catholic, Lucia found peace in her faith and looked forward to being reunited with her beloved husband, Bob.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, at The Oratory Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Red Bank. Interment will follow: Lucia and Bob Limbach will be interred together at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown on the 25th anniversary of the Saturday they were married. They started their lives together, and they will be laid to rest together.
