Lynn Klausner Einbinder, 84, passed away March 17 surrounded by her loving family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Lynn was born May 13, 1939, in Bronx, New York. She graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, Hunter College, and obtained a master’s degree in educational leadership from Monmouth University. Before retiring, Lynn taught middle school social studies at Thompson Middle School in Middletown for nearly 30 years. She was beloved by her students, who remembered her lessons and her class into their adulthood.

More than anything else she was a loving wife, mother and doting grandmother.

She is predeceased by her father Morris Klausner, her mother Freda Klausner, her sister Vivienne Cooperman, and her nephew Paul Cooperman.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jason, whom she met at the Bronx High School of Science on New Year’s Eve in 1956. She is also survived by her children: Hon. Madelin Einbinder and husband John Foti, Dr. Susan Einbinder, and Morgan Einbinder and wife Dr. Lynne Einbinder; and by her grandchildren, Alissa and Andrew Foti and Kathryn, Matthew and William Einbinder. Additionally, she is survived by her cat Severus who was like another child to her.

Services were March 19 at Rumson Jewish Center at Congregation B’nai Israel, Rumson, with internment at the B’nai Israel Cemetery in Tinton Falls. Family and friends were welcome to attend the repast at the synagogue immediately following burial.

In lieu of flowers for the family, a memorial donation in Lynn’s name can be made to Amedisys Foundation Special Needs Fund, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 to support hospice care.
