Peter Ralston Mahler, 53, passed away peacefully at home May 24. Born in Red Bank, Peter lived in Highlands and worked with his father and brother in their family business, H.R. Mahler and Sons, a painting company founded by his grandfather in 1923.

A true gentleman and a loyal fan of the Rangers, Mets and Giants, Peter will be remembered for his kindness, his wonderful sense of humor, his love of the islands and his dedication to his family.

Peter was predeceased by his father, Harry Charles Mahler and his brother, Harry Charles Mahler Jr. He is survived by his mother, Helen Mahler; sister Linda Mahler and her husband Edward Champlin of Stockton; sister Dawn Stout of Rumson; niece Sarah Stout of New York City; niece Katie Loughran and her husband Joseph Ujj of New Hope; and nephew Michael Loughran of Philadelphia.

A celebration of his life will be held this summer on the beach at Ship Ahoy in Sea Bright, with his favorite rum punch and reggae music.
