Marian E. Puma

Marian E. Puma, 94, of Red Bank, peacefully passed away at her home Dec. 27, 2020. She was born in Newark, the daughter of Salvatore LaManna and Rosalie Ferlise LaManna. Marian and her husband Joseph moved to Middletown in 1956 to set up a home office dental practice. Marian worked as his dental assistant for 30 years; any adults – and especially children – who came to the practice will remember her genuine warmth, sense of humor and ability to put even the most nervous patients at ease.

Marian and Joe resided in their home in Middletown for 52 years. She moved to The Atrium in Red Bank soon after her beloved husband of 57 years passed into eternal life in 2008. Marian was the kind of person who could always be counted on for a smile and a helping hand for anyone who needed it. She most cherished times spent with her family, especially her three grandchildren, Katie, Alex and Jack. They were the loves and the light of her life.

Marian enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours at the beach and at the family’s farm in upstate New York where all were welcomed with open arms. She was the No. 1 fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. You could find her in front of her TV on game days cheering her teams on with passion.

Marian was predeceased by her parents and brothers Thomas and John. Her loss will be mourned by her son Gary and his wife Karen, by her sister Thomasina Seiler, her sister-in-law Johanna Gonzalez, and by her beloved grandchildren, Katie, Alex and Jack Puma.

Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
