Marion Quinn of Red Bank passed away peacefully Aug. 30, 2023. She was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Newark to the late Joseph H. Logan and Mary Elizabeth Wooley. Marion was raised in Newark where she attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and St. Joseph’s Business School in Newark.

Marion married Jack Quinn in 1945 after he was discharged from the U.S. Army. She moved to Red Bank with Jackie and their children in the late 1950s. Jackie died Sept. 19, 1965.

Marion was employed by Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

Upon retirement from Brookdale, she enjoyed socializing and traveling with her best friend Millie Schiafone. They had many wonderful adventures.

Marion Quinn loved Red Bank! She loved being a part of the community. She was an advocate for the Red Bank Senior Center. She was one of the first volunteers for the Two Rivers Theater and was extremely dedicated to the theater and her volunteer responsibilities. The theater honored her with her name above the music rehearsal room door.

Marion loved to read and also worked as a volunteer for the Red Bank Public Library. Books were a huge part of her life, something she passed on to her children. Her two sons are retired teachers and two of her grandchildren are teachers.

Aside from the Two River Theater and Red Bank Public Library, her favorite places were Sickles Market where she loved to walk and the boardwalk at Spring Lake. Family was without a doubt an important aspect of Marion Quinn’s life.

She is survived by her children, Michael Quinn of Pittsburgh, John (Joanne) of Shrewsbury and Moira (Patrick) of Red Bank; five grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Christopher (Marissa), Brendan (Hillary) and Patrick (Christine); great-grandchildren; and Rose Schiafone Wright, daughter of her late best friend Millie Schiafone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jackie, brother Joseph, brother Robert, sister Jane and beloved daughter-in-law Brenda.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at St. James Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

Marion requested donations be made to the Red Bank Public Library, 84 West Front St., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
