Marthe Adrienne Gagliardi née Cotto, 89, of Eatontown, formerly of Oceanport, passed away peacefully Aug. 15, 2022. She was born in Tours, France to the late Marcel Cotto and Jeanne Cotto née Billault.
Known to family and friends as Martine, she was a talented seamstress and caring homemaker with an exceptional gift for cooking Italian and French cuisine and hosting unforgettable Thanksgiving dinners. She was an immediate and avid fan of all children she met, with a special love for her many nieces and nephews and those beyond the family whom she regarded as her own. She was also a dog lover who raised a family dynasty of poodles, all named “Dodo.” Most of all, Martine enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Anthony J. Gagliardi in 2011.
Martine is survived by her son Anthony M. Gagliardi, his wife Emmie Fan, and a sister Jacqueline Marteau.
Visitation was Aug. 21 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 22 at St. James R.C. Church in Red Bank. Entombment immediately followed at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
