Mary A. Cangelosi, 98, of Holmdel, passed away Sept. 10, 2021, at Bayshore Medical Center. Mary was born in New York in 1922 and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Grazia (née Fasano) Achilarre. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house and enjoyed her weekly outings to the hair salon and Stop & Shop. She was also a member of Holy Family Church in Union Beach and attended weekly services until recently. Her favorite time of year was the holidays and always hosted Christmas Eve at her home with her family around her table.
Mary is survived by her two sons Frank (Joyce) and Ralph; three granddaughters, MaryPat (Mike), Jacqueline (Artie), and Samantha; and three grandsons, Frank (Liz), Joseph (AnnMarie) and Nicholas (Kristi). Mary is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, Mikey, Lauren, Daniel, Madelyn, Kristen, Abigail, Mia, Frankie and Vincent.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank Cangelosi; sisters Rose Valitutto, Angelina Curatola and Annette Aronne; and brothers Michael and Dominick Achilarre.
Visitation was Sept. 12 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Mass was offered Sept. 13 at Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach. Entombment followed at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in Mary’s name to a charity of your choice.
