Maryalice E. Hanrahan Castaner, 52, of Belford, peacefully passed away at home Nov. 29 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Maryalice was born Oct. 13, 1968, the daughter of Laverne and Vincent Hanrahan. She lived in Middletown most of her life, except for a few years when she was in Miami. She was a bartender at the Walt Street Pub in Red Bank.

Maryalice will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and friend. She loved being surrounded by her friends and family. She made sure her home was a warm, inviting place where everyone could hang out. She loved to make it extra special with seasonal decor and trinkets that she found. She was always up to host a party or cook a feast. Pets were always welcomed in her home, too. Her dog Memphis and Pumpkin her cat will surely miss all her affection. When Maryalice was not at home, you could find her at the beach collecting sea glass or taking pictures of the sunrise and sunset.

Maryalice is survived by her four children, Osiris, Orion, Owen and Olivia, along with their father Osvaldo Castaner. She also leaves behind her devoted companion Paul Oster and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the springtime.
