Maryann Holinda, 93, of Middletown, passed away peacefully July 21, 2024. She was born in Elizabeth and lived in Middletown for 73 years.
Maryann worked as a server at Howard Johnson’s for over 30 years, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Her time at Howard Johnson’s only enhanced her gift of gab. Whenever she met someone, she would know everything about them in minutes and become their friend, chatting away endlessly. She continued this gift throughout the rest of her life, whether it be the cashier at the supermarket or a stranger she met at the racetrack.
She will be remembered for her quick wit and wry sense of humor along with her love of travel and meeting new people everywhere.
Surviving are her three sons, Christopher (Carolyn) Holinda, Randy (Fran) Holinda and John (Diane) Holinda and he grandchildren, Josh, Jenn, Jake and Alex. Also surviving is her dear friend and neighbor, Jada.
Visitation was held July 29 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral Mass was offered July 30 at St. Mary’s Church, Middletown. Entombment followed at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.
