Harold F McBride, 76, of Red Bank, died comfortably at home on Sunday, April 23 surrounded by his family. He was born in Elizabeth and lived in Hillside before moving to Middletown 45 years ago. Harold worked as a maintenance electrician for Exxon Mobil in Edison for 25 years, retiring in 2003. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea from 1960 to 1964. Harold was a member of St Mary’s Parish in Middletown. He was also a member of the Monmouth County Rifle and Pistol Club and enjoyed skeet and target shooting. Harold had an avid interest in history and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting and traveling with his wife across the US and Europe.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Jean McBride; and two sisters, Jean Russell and Myrtle McDarby. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joan Carole McBride; a son, James McBride of Long Valley; and a daughter, Jill McBride Dolan and her husband Steven Dolan of Bel Air, Maryland.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at John F Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Chapel. 26 Leonardville Rd.. New Monmouth.
