Julia Kostura McPherson passed away at Teresian House, Albany, New York, Aug. 15. Julia’s spirit, smile, laughter and personality will forever stay with those she left behind.

Julia was born in Oxford, New Jersey in 1920. She was raised in North Arlington and lived in Middletown for 33 years before moving to Slingerlands, New York in 1992. Julia was an avid bridge player, gardener and reader. She enjoyed listening to her music.

She was predeceased by her husband Malcolm; her son Malcolm; and her siblings, Mary, Charles, John, Anna and George. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (John) of Slingerlands; Robert (Susan) of Oak Ridge; and John Scott of Elberon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Scott Poole (Rebecca), Shannon Pruitt (Brian), Michael Poole (Ginelle), Scott McPherson (Lindsey), Bryan Poole (Anna), Kristin Petchnick (Daniel), Maureen Kelly Hoey (Chad), Stephen McPherson (April), Malcolm McPherson (Katie), Samantha Hughes (Tom), Mary Cait McPherson (Rob Reynolds); 17 great-grandchildren; and her best friend from elementary school, Eileen Duffy of Little Falls.

Julia’s family would like to thank the staff of Teresian House (5th Floor B) for their love and care of Julia.

Visitation was held Aug. 20 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were Aug. 21 at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy was offered Aug. 21 at St. Mar y’s Chapel, Middletown. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
