Michael Covert, 47, of Red Bank, passed away Dec. 28, 2020. Michael grew up in Oceanport and graduated from Shore Regional High School in 1992. He was employed by the Fair Haven Board of Education at the Knollwood School for many years.

He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, wrestling, motor cycles, music, crabbing and fishing.

Michael is survived by his mother Joanne Harrington of Virginia; his aunt Marlene Byram; uncle Rick Robbins; cousins Sherry Byram, Diana Salerno and Lianne Pragosa; the love his life Marcella Cancassi; his beloved cats and many other cousins and friends. 

There will be a memorial gathering Saturday, Jan. 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 with prayers at 11:30 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. In keeping with the current state mandates regarding COVID-19, face coverings must be worn by all visitors before entering the funeral home and visitors are also asked to observe social distancing. Visitors are asked to greet the family and then exit the funeral home so that others may also visit due to the limited, allowable capacity. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
