Michael Toscano

Michael Toscano, 91, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Little Silver, passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2021. Michael was born in Long Branch to Mercelo and Concetta (Rispoli) Toscano.

He was a graduate of Red Bank High School Class of 1948 where he also served as class president. Michael attended Muhlenberg College, received his bachelor’s degree from Rider College and his master’s from Rutgers University.

Michael honorably served the country in the U.S. Army Auditing Agency during the Korean War.

He was a lifetime member of Deal Golf and Country Club and was a very avid golfer. In addition, he was the founder and first member of Bamm Hollow Country Club. Lastly, he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Rotary award for 50 years of perfect attendance.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Molly Adeskavitdz, stepson Richard Schneider and grandson RJ Schneider. 

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Virginia (Bailey) Toscano of Shrewsbury; son Michael Toscano and wife Debbie of Asbury; and daughter Michele Strahl and husband Andrew of Oakhurst; grandchildren Jason, Angela, Sean and Jacqueline; great-grandchildren Daniel, Allie, Anthony and Jack; and his sisters, Mary Williamson, Ada Pennington and Marcy Ellberger. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Michael’s memory to the Red Bank Rotary Foundation.
