WEST LONG BRANCH – Monmouth University’s Student Government Association is looking for worksites for The Big Event.
Now in its 15th year, the campus-wide community service day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in conjunction with the 2014 national day of service, Make-a-Difference Day.
Each year about 400 students volunteer at 30 to 40 worksites to perform community service and help fellow neighbors. Jobs include litter removal, painting, landscaping, and other activities at local businesses, nonprofit organizations and private homes.
“The Big Event is our opportunity to say thanks to our surrounding community for their support and to give back,” said 2014 Big Event Chair Alyssa Sardelli.
