ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – Mother Teresa Regional School has received an anonymous $50,000 donation that is meant to fund the St. Thomas More Scholarship Fund.
In addition, for every dollar over $50,000 raised by the PTA during the 2014-2015 school year, the donor will match, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.
“I am deeply honored and grateful for this extraordinary act of generosity,” Principal Tom Sorci said. “This anonymous gift is an exceptional vote of confidence as we embark on an exciting new year at Mother Teresa Regional School, a school that has traditionally reached out to families from the Bayshore area to help meet the cost of a Catholic school education.”
According to school officials, the donor, who asked to remain anonymous, was attracted to the school because of its special commitment to children of all faiths and economic circumstances.
The St. Thomas More Scholarship Fund was established to assist qualified families in attending Mother Teresa Regional School. Families interested in applying for the scholarship are asked to contact Doris Kane, business manager at the school at 732-291-1050.
The financial aid application can also be found on the school’s website at mtregional.com.
Mother Teresa Regional School has several upcoming fundraisers scheduled, including a casino night on Nov. 8 at Jacques Reception Center in Middletown. Additional information about the casino night, the Christmas bazaar or other upcoming events is available by visiting the website.
