Myra Elizabeth Breiten, 79, of Middletown, passed away Aug. 26, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she was raised in Kearny, moving to Middletown in 1969.
She was a graduate of Kearny High School, Brookdale Community College and Upsala College. She was employed as a social worker for Monmouth County where she helped countless people over 38 years before retiring. She worked right up to her passing as a beloved concierge at Admiralty Condos.
In her leisure time, she loved cooking, gardening, reading, crosswords and attending Broadway shows. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Myra Dixon, and her brother Richard Dixon. Surviving are her loving children, Robert Charles Breiten Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Maureen Damiano and her husband Salvatore, and Elizabeth Ann Miller; her sister Georgiann Eccleston; and her grandchildren, Tyler, Olivia, Sean and Ryan.
Visitation was Aug. 30 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at the funeral home. Entombment will be private.
