Nicoletti, Richard C., Age: 76, Red Bank

779

Richard C. Nicoletti, 76, went home to be with our Lord Aug. 13. He was born and raised in Red Bank to Patrick and Lily (Garland) Nicoletti.

Richard was born in Red Bank in 1943. He graduated Red Bank High School and then attended the University of Florida where he earned a degree in journalism.

Richard went on to work as a sports journalist for the Red Bank Register, a teacher at Calvary Academy and most recently a tennis professional at the Red Bank Clay Tennis Courts.

Aside from his love of professional sports, especially his Florida Gators and New York Yankees, Richard was an avid tennis and pickle ball player.

However, Richard’s pursuit was a closer walk with our Lord our Savior, Jesus Christ and he was a devout Christian and a staple of Bethel Bible Chapel in Red Bank, where he could be found every Sunday leading hymns and inspiring all with scripture readings and messages of saving and redemption.

Richard was also an avid foodie, whipping up delicious meals and ensuring everyone had their fill…especially those SCALLOPS!

His loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Jessica Nicoletti, and his three amorous children Timothy (Lisa), Kimberly (Jason) and Marybeth (David) survive Richard, as do his grandchildren Brian, Lilia, Madeline, Audrey and Elijah.

The family of Richard Nicoletti wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and messages of support and encouragement during this difficult time. We love you all.

The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, hosted a memorial gathering Aug. 18 with a memorial service. Mr. Nicoletti’s final wishes were to be cremated, therefore burial services will not be held.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth and Middlesex counties.
