Norma L. Johnson, 92, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Sept. 24, 2022. Norma was born and raised in Winthrop, Massachusetts, living in the historic Deane Winthrop House, and graduating from Winthrop High School.

In 1949, she married the love of her life, Harvey W. (Bill) Johnson, who was then an Army private, and began 31 years as an Army wife with Bill attaining the rank of colonel. Norma served as the president of the Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Special Warfare Center Officer Wives Club and created a loving home at each assignment, including two tours to Germany and other assignments in the United States.

Norma and Bill retired to Fair Haven in 1980. Bill passed in 1996 and Norma moved to Fort Myers in 2010. She and Bill had three sons, William (Carol), who passed in 2020, Robert (Pamela), and Eric; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Norma was a gracious host, wonderful conversationalist, loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She will be interred with Bill in Arlington National Cemetery March 18, 2023.
