Norman Deacy of Red Bank passed away peacefully Sept. 19, 2023, at Riverview Medical Center.

Norman was predeceased by his parents, Louise and Norman Deacy. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia (Ginny) Deacy; her children, Lauren and John Ivanchenko, Bernie and Cynthia Dowd, Liz and Jack Simons, Jennifer and Ted Mellor, and John and Lisa Dowd; grandchildren, Melissa, Abby, Maggy, Taylor, Mary, Conor, Sarah, Alex, Mattea, Catherine, John and Liana; and great-grandchildren, Maizey, Fiona, Phoebe and Adeline.  

Norman was born and raised in Red Bank and graduated from Red Bank High School. He served in the National Guard and had a fulfilling career as a real estate appraiser. He was a lifetime member of St. James Church; his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was also an active member of the Briody Bunch social organization.

Norman loved watching all sports, especially golf and his beloved New York Yankees. He loved boating and waking up to a view of the Navesink River from his home. Most importantly, Norman cherished time with his wife Ginny and their family. He will be remembered for his huge heart and infectious laugh.

Norman was a dear friend to so many and will be greatly missed. 

Family and friends were invited to visit Sept. 24 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 25 at St. James Church, Red Bank. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, it was Norman’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
