Olga Yanés Morales, 91, of Oceanport, a cherished mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully Jan. 24, 2024. Family stood by her side as her journey came to an end.

Olga was born in Villa Clara, Cuba, where she met her beloved husband, Eduardo Morales. Shortly after Castro came to power in 1959, they fled communist Cuba to the United States with their young daughter. They settled and enjoyed many years as residents of Union City/Guttenberg in Hudson County. Against all odds, Olga and Eduardo were successful and respected business owners in their community.

Once retired, they moved to Tinton Falls in 2004 to be closer to their family.

Olga’s authentic Cuban cooking was exceptional and she always had a plate for anyone who visited their home. After the death of her adored husband in 2012 she moved to Oceanport. During these years she enjoyed time with her good friends and family, laughs with her cherished grand-dogs, taking care of her beautiful plants and conversations with family in Cuba.

She leaves behind many memories and her absence will be felt by all those who knew her.

Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, Manasquan.
