Patricia (Pat) Farley passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at the Belmont Village Nursing Home, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was 91. Pat and her husband Denis lived in Monmouth County for 51 years.

Pat had a fall Oct. 24, 2023, and broke a hip. She was making progress with rehab when she fell and broke the other hip. She was confined to bed and a wheelchair for the past few months. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esther Noel McCall and Frank J. McCall, and her brother Philip McCall. She is survived by her husband Denis, brother Frank McCall and sister Janice McCall. 

Pat was a devoted wife and friend to many, especially at Monmouth Boat Club in Red Bank. 

She was born March 17, 1933, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Bishop McCord High School. After graduation, Pat worked for the telephone company and Penn Traffic Department store. Six years after high school Pat enrolled at Penn State and graduated in 1961. She earned her master’s degree from Rider University.

Pat became a business education teacher at Westmont High School in Johnstown and moved on to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She taught for 25 years at Shore Regional High School and her marketing students were placed at multiple retail businesses. At the culmination of their senior year, the business students held an annual Plant & Gift Fair in conjunction with Sickle’s Nursery. 

Pat was visiting her younger brother at the Jersey Shore when she met Denis at the Bluffs in Bay Head. They were married May 1, 1971. They moved to Monmouth County and lived in Middletown for 12 years before moving to Monmouth Beach where they lived for 37 years. 

Pat and Denis joined Monmouth Boat Club in 1972 and they sailed together in many classes of sailboats. Pat was an active member of many club committees.   

There will be a memorial Mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida, in September. Internment will be in New Germany Cemetery, New Germany, Pennsylvania, where she will join her parents. There will be a celebration of her life at Monmouth Boat Club in October.
