Patricia “Techia” Marie Montuoro, 78, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home May 26, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family.

She was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School and met the love of her life, Bobby. Upon marriage, they moved to Middletown, raising their family with exceptional care and commitment. Their marriage was one to be emulated.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert; her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Frank Wilton of Middletown; her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Amy Montuoro of Point Pleasant; the seven joys of her life, her grandchildren, Frankie, Alex, Milena, Robbie, Emmitt, Corina and Harry; her sister Christina DeVeau; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ina Knowles née Gribben, and her brother Harry.

Techia was a lifelong homemaker and devoted matriarch of her family. A doting fan of all her grandchildren’s activities, she lovingly attended games, concerts, plays and award shows, always with treats in hand. Although of Scottish and Irish descent, she is remembered for preparing delicious and authentic Italian meals, as taught by her mother-in-law. An amazingly selfless person, Techia never forgot the special occasions of her loved ones, sending cards and gifts until the very last days of her life.

Visitation was May 29 at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral Mass was held May 30 at St. Mary’s Church in Middletown. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you kindly donate to a favorite charity in her name.
