Paul A. Parmentola, 91, of Lincroft, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 16, 1933, in Baranello, Italy, Paul’s life was defined by hard work, devotion and a deep love for his family.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 64 years, Catherine; his son Paul M. Parmentola, daughter-in-law Maria and grandson Nicholas; his daughter Michelle F. Pati, son-in-law Mario Pati and granddaughters Giulianna and Valentina; his brother-in-law Achille Niro and his wife Suzanne; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews around the world.

He was predeceased by his parents, Michelangelo and Filomena Parmentola; his beloved granddaughter Debra Parmentola; his in-laws, Nicola and Camilla Niro; and his brother-in-law Umberto Niro.

Paul spent his early years working in his family’s mill in Baranello before immigrating to the United States with his mother in 1954. He began his career as a laborer with Mike Nero Construction in Hazlet and, through dedication and skill, rose to the roles of foreman and supervisor as a member of Laborers Union Local 472 in Newark. His 45-year career concluded with Rosangela Contracting Co. Inc., where he earned admiration for his dependability, never missing a single day of work.

In addition to his construction career, Paul worked weekends as a limousine driver, serving New York City-area airports. Despite his tireless work ethic, Paul always prioritized his family, who were his greatest source of pride.

Paul had a passion for gardening, spending countless hours cultivating a bountiful harvest of fruits, vegetables and flowers. His fig trees were renowned, producing an abundance of fruit that he lovingly shared with family and friends.

Paul A. Parmentola will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose life was a testament to resilience, generosity and love. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Visitation was held Dec. 11 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 12 at St. Anthony of Padua in Red Bank. Entombment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
