Sally Ann Thompson Paul, 88, of Tinton Falls, beloved wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, doting great grandmother, adored aunt and devoted friend, passed peacefully April 24 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and husband of 64 years, William “Bill” Paul.
A native Staten Islander, Sally Ann was born in Port Richmond October 1929 to Lillian Hegarty Thompson and John Walter Thompson. She is predeceased by her younger brother John “Jack” Thompson and baby sister Margaret “Marge” Thompson Brennan.
She attended Port Richmond High and graduated from New York University at Brockport. She married William V. Paul Jr. in June 1954 at Sacred Heart Parish in Staten Island.
Sally Ann leaves behind five sons and daughters-in-law, William (Skip) and Karen, John (Jack) and Edwina, James (Jim) and Susan, Richard and Louise, Robert and Bridget. She was loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Sally Ann’s family respectfully requests donations to the Sisters Of Life of New York City in lieu of flowers.
