Paul V. McLean, 72, of Oceanport, passed away peacefully Oct. 2, 2024, at Complete Care in Shrewsbury. He was born in Long Branch to Harry and Leah (Coudrier) McLean and lived most of his life in Red Bank before settling in Oceanport in 2010.
Paul graduated from Red Bank High School in 1970 and started his career with the United States Postal Service. He was community-minded and volunteered for the Red Bank Hook and Ladder.
Paul had an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. He had a generous spirit and would go out of his way to help his family, friends and neighbors in need.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Leah McLean, his brothers, Barry and Harold McLean, and his sister-in-law Carol McLean.
Paul is survived by his brothers, George McLean (twin) of Lakewood, Steven McLean of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and James McLean and sister-in-law Marie of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister Caryl Lynn and brother-in-law Brian New Sr. of Red Bank; and sister-in-law Lisa McLean of Lakewood. He is also survived by his nephews, Craig McLean, Kristoffer McLean, Michael McLean, Mark McLean, Brian New Jr., Sean New, and Kevin New, nieces Courtney MacKenzie and Megan McLean, and many loving great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 4 at St. James Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank. Burial will follow Mass at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Bank Hook and Ladder in memory of Paul at redbankfire.org/donate. Thompson Memorial Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
