Peter T. McKinney, age 88, of Little Silver, died March 21, 2024, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Brooklyn.
Peter was a 1953 graduate of Port Jefferson High School in Port Jefferson, New York. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and the Wharton School of Business.
Peter spent his business career on Wall Street, retiring from Oppenheimer and Company in 1997.
He was a member of the Sea Bright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club in Rumson and The Seabright Beach Club in Sea Bright. He was an avid tennis and paddle tennis player, swimmer and sailor.
Peter is survived by his wife Sigrid; daughter Sharon and husband Clark Herman; son Ted and his wife Emily McKinney; and daughter Jennifer and her husband Dan Bromage. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Harry and Sasha Herman, Katie and Peter McKinney II and Emily and Thomas Bromage.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank has been entrusted with the arrangements.
