Philip Louis Molinari, a father, friend and larger-than-life personality, passed away peacefully Feb. 17, 2025, leaving behind an irreplaceable legacy.

Philip’s presence was unforgettable – his charisma, charm and confidence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Phil built a remarkable career as a menswear executive, shaping the industry with grit, vision, instinct, a sharp eye for style and unwavering determination throughout his time at companies like Bugle Boy, The Arrow Shirt Company and Van Heusen. Beyond his professional success, Philip’s greatest source of pride was his son, Benjamin. He found immense joy in the love of his daughter-in-law, Mimi, and his cherished grandchildren, Ezra and Clara.

Although not a fan of recipes, Phil was a phenomenal cook. Like most things in his life, he created magic through bold flavors without much of a plan.

In his later years, Philip found peace by the ocean, spending his days on the beach and running a clothing store at Donavan’s Reef in Sea Bright. He followed a simple yet unconventional rule of sales, which garnered him much success at the shop. Philip believed that the customer was mostly wrong and, as it turns out, he was probably right.

Philip is survived by his son, Benjamin (Mimi); his beloved grandchildren, Ezra and Clara; his former wife, Lyle Kendall; his brother Michael; and a host of wonderful friends. Philip was pre-deceased by his parents, Tullio and Anne, and his brother Joseph.

While he leaves an irreplaceable void, his spirit will continue to shine through the stories, laughter and vibrancy he shared with us all. Philip’s passion, intensity and presence will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Services will be held privately by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank.
