RED BANK – The holiday season began with a glow Nov. 29 when Santa came to town on New Jersey Transit and Holiday Express filled the air with music before the 27th annual town lighting. Santa and Mrs. Claus started the evening at the Little Silver train station where they boarded the train to Red Bank. From there they got a lift from a Red Bank fire truck before leading a procession up Broad Street to the concert. Holiday Express kept the crowd warm in chilly temps with Christmas favorites and some special guests, then led the crowd in a live countdown to the lighting. Red Bank offered attendees free parking throughout town Friday (and throughout the weekend, too). Red Bank’s menorah will be lit Dec. 22 in Riverside Gardens Park.
