On Memorial Day weekend residents honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. In Fair Haven, the volunteer fire company remembered department members who recently passed. In Rumson, people lined River Road in the business district to show their gratitude for our fallen heroes. At Victory Park, the guest speaker asked all active duty and veterans in attendance to come forward and be recognized. One by one, they approached the stage. Before long over 30 people stood in front of a cheering crowd.
