Richard A. Seeman passed away June 8, 2024, at the age of 75, near his longtime home of Red Bank. His battle with pancreatic cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile and fighting until the end.

Rich was born in New York to John and Mirdza Seeman. he met the love of his life, Sandy, while working as a swim instructor and lifeguard at the YMCA in New York. It was love at first sight and Rich and Sandy remained committed to each other through 54 years of marriage. Together they built a wonderful life and family.

Rich is survived by his loving wife Sandy and his two sons, Rich and Tim; their wives, Amy and Rebecca; his grandchildren, Page, Calder and Callie; his nephew Erich; and other family members.

Professionally, Rich was consistently on the cutting edge of the fledgling electronics and information technology industries. In his 25-plus years with the Telerate Corporation, Rich melded the two in developing the infrastructure and applications used to propel the growth of the stock market and financial services industry. He traveled all over the world for Telerate and Western Electric, making many friends along the way.

Outside of work he became husband, Dad, Grandpa, Pop Pop, Coach and Cub Scout leader, just to name a few. His former players still call him “coach.” Rich endeared himself to all who knew him.

Rich loved the sea. He spent many happy hours on his boat, Seeman’s Ship, fishing and traveling as far as New England.
