Richard “Dick” Tierney, a proud Irishman with a commanding presence and a huge heart, passed away Dec. 1, 2024, after 92 years and 4 months of great living. Up until the day before he died, when asked how he was doing, Dick always responded, “What’s better than spectacular?”
His laughter was contagious – he was the first to laugh at his own jokes – and his generosity was beyond measure. Dick was a devout Catholic, a loyal Notre Dame alum and a dedicated U.S. Marine veteran.
He will be missed by his loving family and many fans and friends.
The family looks forward to celebrating his wonderful life at 11 a.m., Jan. 4 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, Florida.
