Richard Kane Bogart, 84, of the River Plaza section of Middletown, passed away peacefully Sept. 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 29, 1942, to Frank and Emma (Jameson) Bogart.

Richard served the country honorably in the United States Air Force after graduating from Middletown High School in 1960. There, he met the love of his life, Evelyn Dlabac.

Richard worked in New York City for 40 years as an insurance underwriter, where he was admired professionally for his honesty, intelligence and unwavering integrity.

In his leisure time, he was known to enjoy a round of golf.

Beloved by his family and friends, he was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn and his two brothers, Frank and Bobby Bogart.

Surviving are his cherished and devoted children: daughter Samantha Gorodovich and her husband, Kevin Gorodovich of Eatontown, and son Richard F. Bogart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Joseph Benincasa of Eatontown and his greatest treasure, his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Dean Gorodovich.

His family will hold private services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ASPCA.org in Richard’s memory.
