Richard McTernan, 80, of Asbury Park, passed away Feb. 10, 2021, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Richard was born July 27, 1940, in Newark, a son of the late Anna and Joseph McTernan.
Rich lived most of his life in and around the Middletown area. In his younger years, he restored furniture as a trade; he later worked for the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach in the maintenance department. In his spare time, Rich enjoyed fishing and trips to Monmouth Park.
Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his children, Richard and Megan. Rich also leaves behind his siblings, Arlene Haake, James McTernan and Jean Stiesi, along with three grandchildren.
It was Rich’s wishes that services be private and his ashes scattered at his favorite fishing spot.
