Rita Marie Kornet, 73, of Middletown, passed away Aug. 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New York City and grew up in Emerson. She lived in Middletown for the last 46 years. She will forever be remembered for her culinary talents and love of the New York Yankees.
Rita is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald Kornet; her two daughters, Nicole and husband Brett Bonvillain and Bridget and husband Vito Ameno; six cherished grandchildren, Gabby, Vito, Peyton, Sadie, Lacy and Enzo; and many beloved siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and John Bolger.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Aug. 30 at St. Agnes Church, 103 Center Ave., Atlantic Highlands. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
