Joseph F. Rizzo, 66, of Lincroft passed away at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank Jan. 7. He was born in Hoboken and had lived in Lodi before moving to Lincroft 35 years ago. He worked as an electrical engineer for both Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies for many years before retiring. Among his proudest accomplishments was his induction into the New Jersey Inventor’s Hall of Fame in 1991.
He is predeceased by his father Michael Rizzo.
Surviving are his mother Irene Rizzo; his wife of 45 years Virginia (Tamburri) Rizzo; his three daughters, Virginia Macedo, Mary Rizzo and Susan DeNoia; his brother Michael Rizzo; his sister Patricia Frino; and his four grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Joey and James.
Visitation took place Jan. 19 at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a funeral home service. All other arrangements are private.
