Robert “Bob” Carr, 64, of Fair Haven, passed away Aug. 14, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, John Carr and Jean McGuire, and his siblings, Jack Carr, James Carr and Patricia Kerns. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law Arthur Coughlin and his sister-in-law Jeanette Davis.

Bob was a very caring husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Coreen Carr; his sons, Robert J. and his wife Alyssa and their children Christopher and Olivia, and Matthew A. Carr and Brendan J. Carr.

Bob is also survived by his stepfather George McGuire; his siblings Thomas Carr and his wife Alicia, William Carr, Kathy Enna and her husband Tom, Mary Romano and her husband Deacon Joseph Romano and Michael McGuire and his wife Alicia; his mother-in-law Helen Coughlin; brothers-in-law Arthur Coughlin and his wife Doreen, Brian Coughlin and his wife Catherine; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was very active in the community. Throughout the years he coached both baseball and basketball for all three of his sons and many of their childhood friends. He was the co-founder of the Fair Haven men’s basketball league where so many other great friendships were formed. Bob also enjoyed going to the beach where he was a member at Sands Beach Club. He was an active parishioner at the Church of the Nativity where he volunteered his time.

A memorial gathering with a prayer service was held Aug. 20 at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to donate to the Monmouth County SPCA.
