Robert James Young Jr., 74, of Middletown, passed away June 6, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Dubois, Pennsylvania. He spent time at his home in Middletown and on the beach at his home in Venice, Florida, with his loving wife Molly. 

Robert worked as a pharmaceutical sales manager for Schering-Plough for over 30 years. He worked in the animal health division and was able to travel to all 50 states over the course of his career. After his retirement in 2002 he spent his time doing all the things he loved. He was a proud alumnus of Penn State University, as well as a dedicated fan of the Nittany Lions sports teams. He has held season tickets to Penn State football for over 40 years. He tried to never miss watching a game.

Robert also had a great love of the outdoors. He spent much of his time hunting and fishing at his beloved Camp Dogwood in Sinnemahoning, Pennsylvania. He tied his own flies and continually honed his love of fly fishing. Whether he was in Venice, Florida, or at Ship Ahoy Beach Club in Sea Bright, he would spend hours surfcasting to catch a fresh dinner. 

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Molly Ann Young; two daughters, Melissa (James) Newell and Kathy (Nick Plevier) Young; and son Robert (Meg) Young. He was greatly loved by his grandchildren, Andrew, Joel and Becca Newell; Tessa and Robert James Young IV; and Jack Plevier. He is also survived by his sister Linda Young McCarty and her husband Bob of Haines City, Florida, and her sons Jimmy, Rod and Andrew Zullo; and his brother John Young of Brockway, Pennsylvania.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Robert James Young Sr. and Joesphine Young of DuBois.

A Memorial Visitation was held June 14 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy was offered June 15 at St. Mary Mary Mother of God Church in Middletown.
