Robert Lee Cloud, age 88, passed away Nov. 27, 2022, surrounded by his family in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Robert was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Albert and Mary (Crumpton) Cloud. He married Patricia (Donahue) Nov. 15, 1958, in Red Bank. They were together for 61 years.

Robert is survived by his three children, Theresa (Andrew) Johnson of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Linda (Cliff) Weinstein of Fleming Island, Florida, and Brian (Gloria) Cloud of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his brother Ronnie (Elsie) Cloud of Danville, Illinois; his loving sister-in-law Joanne O’Neill of Dunnellon, Florida; many nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, his son Robert T. Cloud, sister Ethel (Cloud) Probsco, brother Russell Cloud, loving niece Mary Wilken, and sister-in-law Eileen Deragon.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He owned and operated a Carvel Ice Cream store in Belford for 10 years and later worked at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, as a craftsman. He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks #233 in Red Bank. 

Robert spent most of his life in Red Bank, but also lived in El Paso, Texas, Oneida, New York, Ocala, Florida, and lastly Hillsboro, Tennessee. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family in the Catskill mountains. He also loved to garden, enjoyed bird watching, savoring ice cream and spending time with his grandchildren. Robert was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs and all Illinois sports teams.
