Robert Stainagle, 66, of Belford, passed unexpectedly at home July 30. Robert was born in Red Bank. He attended Middletown schools and graduated from Middletown High School North. After high school he attended Union Tech, Holmdel, and worked for many years as an alarm technician.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Phyllis (Romanelli); his two adoring and heart-broken daughters, Nicole and her fiancé Dane, and Melissa; his cherished grandson Leo; and his dog friend Lily. He is also survived by his brother Carl.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his close in-laws, many caring nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, dear cousins and numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Liberta, in-laws Nick and Felicia Romanelli, and sister-in-law Virginia Russell.

Bob took special pride in his 1980 Corvette and enjoyed participating in local car shows with his brother-in-law Rick Russell. He would spend hours working on his cars, listening to music and also enjoyed gardening. He looked forward to socializing with other classic car enthusiasts. Bob was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Bob will be truly missed and will remain forever in the hearts of his beloved family, relatives and friends.

Visitation was Aug. 2 at Evergreen Funeral Home, Middletown. A memorial service was conducted at the funeral home Aug. 3, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
