Rose Halbert-Boniecki was born in Brooklyn and spent the last 27 years living in Middletown, with stops in Middletown, New York, and Bayonne in between. She was a workers’ claims manager for over 30 years in New York City and more recently found enjoyment working for the Middletown Parks Department, where she enjoyed her daily walks in Thompson Park.
Rose loved life and people. She could not meet a person without making a new friend. She enjoyed being a hockey mom, spending time with her family and her dogs, Olive and Little B, cooking (including her traditional Puerto Rican dishes), traveling, and planning the next trip.
She is survived by her husband Jon; children, Dylan and Kendall; mother Carmen; sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Sam; brothers, Henry and Paul; brother-in-law and wife, Richard and Linda; nieces and nephews, Talen, Sophia, Sally, Nolen, Lillix, Ana, Cody and Cassidy; lifelong friends, Debbie and Mary; and her many cousins in Cidra, Puerto Rico.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Riverview Medical Center Cancer Services or the John K. Lloyd Nursing Scholarship at hackensackmeridianhealth.org.
The family thanks Riverview Medical Center’s 3 East nurses and staff for their love and care.
Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
