Sabat, Zachary Peter Age: 17, Rumson

Zachary Peter Sabat, 17, of Rumson, passed away peace- fully at home on June 15 after a battle with leukemia. He was born on January 26, 1998 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, to his parents Peter and Linda Sabat. Zack was a student at Rumson Country Day, Knol- lwood and Forrestdale schools, and Red Bank Regional High School. He was a drama major and his passion was acting. His incredible warmth was pres- ent on stage and off. He had a stellar acting career in the making, beginning at Actor’s Playground in Freehold and then appearing in many plays at RBR, Two River Theater and Bradley Beach Playhouse. While growing up, Zack enjoyed playing tennis and trav- el soccer. This summer he was accepted and planned to attend the Yale Drama Summer Program. He loved spend- ing time with his family and friends. He was a kind, talent- ed, smart, gentle, loving person with an infectious laugh and a great smile. Zack was predeceased by his mother, Linda Sabat. He is survived by his father, Peter Sabat; a sister, Shelby Sabat; his stepmother, Anne Sabat; his stepbrothers, Max, Riley and Oliver; his paternal grandmother, Sarah Sabat; his maternal grandmother, Geraldine Racaniello; his stepgrand- mother, Barbara Campo; his aunts and uncles, Bobby and Donna Sabat, Cliff and Laurie Schoenberger, Mark and Joanne Gerhauser, Keith Sabat and Sarah Reinhold, David and Janice Henderson, Debra Reed, Wolfgang and Bernadette Chincarini, John and Marti Campo, Peter and Lisa Campo, Jim and Janet Campo and Tom Campo. He is also survived by many cousins, Jaclynn, Nicole, Brandee, David, Sarah, Jesse, Andrew, Thomas, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Lily, Ava, Wolfgang, Jimmy, John, Patrick, Jamie, Matt, Chris, Lucas and Anna. Beautiful and beloved Zack, our loving son and brother, you will be terribly missed and loved forever. Visitation took place on Friday June 19 at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 20 at the church. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
