Sebastian “Sam” Muratore

Sebastian “Sam” Muratore, 87, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away peacefully April 30, 2021.

Sam was born in Newark and moved Leonardo in 1950. He worked as a butcher for Foodtown for over 30 years. Sam loved food and home cooked meals. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being out on the water. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play sports. Sam’s affectionate personality and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Ron McClelland, Donna and Peter Tactikos, and Lynda and Mark Rohrmann; son Michael Muratore; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Norma Seibel.

The family would like to thank Kitty Wheeler and Sam’s aide, Ted, for their exceptional care during Sam’s stay at Care One at King James.

Sam was preceded in death by his devoted wife Anne in 2011.

Visitation was held May 2 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were May 3 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
