Serena Duncan’s resilient battle with cancer came to an end June 5, 2022.
Serena continued to inspire children as a teacher until her last moments on this earth. She leaves a legacy of strength, dedication and a never-quit attitude for the many youths she impacted in Jersey City.
She is survived by her mother Joanne Marra, her husband Christopher, and her two wonderful children, John and Ashlee. Serena is also survived by her younger sister and brother-in-law, Toniann and Gilberto Berrios, niece Jessy Arellano, as well as her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She showed cancer a thing or two and inspired many others to do so. She will live forever in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, admirers and former students.
Visitation was held June 6 at John F Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy was offered June 7 at Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home.
