Sherry L. Saxe, 55, formerly of Hazlet, passed away Nov. 26 at Monmouth Medical Center. Sherry was born Aug. 26, 1965 and raised in Hazlet. She graduated from Raritan High School where she was part of the marching band color guard. She later moved to Middletown and most recently to the Eatontown area. Sherry held various jobs including working at Petsmart, McDonald’s, Molly Maids and for the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation.

Sherry loved to go out and have a good time. She enjoyed bowling, singing karaoke (her favorite song was “Drift Away”), playing bingo, doing word search puzzles, crabbing, riding her bike and going out to eat. She enjoyed stealing points from everyone in a game of bean bags…she was the best at it. Sherry knew all her family and friends’ birth dates, anniversary dates and any other special occasion; she had quite a memory! Every summer, she looked forward to pool parties at Aunt Betty and Uncle Mike’s pool. If she was home, she liked to color, watch her favorite team, the Yankees, on TV or pick up the phone to check in with her family and friends. Sherry always ended her phone conversations with “Have a Blessed Day.”

Sherry is survived by her mother Doris Morin and her husband Al (aka Pop). She also leaves behind two sisters and their husbands: her twin sister Dorry and Rick Heintz of Maryland, and Victoria and Mike Paladino of Hazlet, along with their brother Eugene Saxe and fiancé Brandi of Indiana and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and dear friends.

Friends and relatives paid their respects Dec. 2 at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A funeral service was held at the funeral home. A private cremation took place. Sherry will be laid to rest with her grandparents at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sherry’s memory to The ARC of Monmouth, 1158 Wayside Road, Eatontown, NJ 07712.
