Sidney John Davis, 88, of Ocean Grove and formerly of Colorado and Red Bank, passed away peacefully Aug. 5, 2024. He was born in Long Branch to the late Albert and Grace Davis.
Sidney was the head custodian for the Tinton Falls Board of Education and also held a host of other positions in different fields of business. He was a lifetime exempt member of the Eatontown Fire Department and a former member of the Eatontown First Aid.
Sidney was predeceased by his loving wife Edith; daughter Dawn; son Joseph; two sisters, Joanne and Marion; brother Robert; and great-grandson James.
He is survived by four daughters, Dianne (Pat), Donna (Ed), Danene (John) and Catherine (Kenneth); three sons, Charles (Jean), Richard (Stacey) and Steven (Elena); sister Kathleen; brother Albert Jr.; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and a prayer service were held Aug. 9 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Entombment followed at the Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
