Miriam V. Smith, 96, passed away Aug. 24 at her home in Red Bank. Born in Staten Island, Miriam was a graduate of St. Peters High School.
She was a home maker and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, baking and cooking. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Miriam was predeceased by her parents, James and Mae Sullivan, and by her husband Carl Smith. Surviving are her children Jay C. Smith and Ellen Smith Edel; her grandchildren Patrick, Chris, Melissa, Will and Kathleen; and her 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Aug. 28 at the Holmdel Funeral Home, Holmdel. A Funeral Mass was offered at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. Entombment followed at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, donations in her memory to the Kidney Cancer Association of America, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
