ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – Siobhan Fallon Hogan’s “Shelter in Solitude” made its film festival world premiere Wed., Nov. 30 at Kevin Smith’s inaugural SModCastle Film Festival held at the SModCastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands.

Over 150 independent films were screened between Nov.30 and Dec. 4. “Shelter in Solitude” is the story of a death row prisoner, played by Peter Macon, with 10 days to live and his relationship with a wannabe country singer, played by Fallon Hogan. Fallon Hogan, of Rumson, also wrote the screenplay and co-produced the film with husband Peter Hogan and their production company Emerald Caz Productions. The film, directed by Vibeke Muasya and starring Robert Patrick as the prison warden and Dan Castellaneta as a prison guard, will be released in 2023 after the film festival circuit has been completed and a distributor has been procured.
