Stephanie Morrow passed away Feb. 12, 2025, surrounded by her husband Robert and her daughters, Johanna and Katherine.

Stephanie, the only daughter of William and Janice Fain, was born in Austin, Texas, and raised in the United States and Europe, including years in Paris, Holland, California, and Washington D.C. A graduate of Sidwell Friends School in the District, Stephanie earned degrees from Cornell University and Catholic University and spent the majority of her career as a social worker for the City of Alexandria, Virginia.

Stephanie married Robert Morrow in 1979, and the couple raised their daughters in Alexandria before retiring to Red Bank. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary months before her passing.

Stephanie loved reading, travel, word games, and spending time with her family. A fluent speaker of Spanish and Dutch, she made friends wherever she went and kept in touch with companions from The Netherlands to El Salvador.

Her family and friends will miss her caring compassion for others, dedication to her children and grandchildren, as well as her sharp memory for dates and family relationships. A consummate travel planner, Stephanie relished memories of her childhood in Europe, yearly cruises with her mother, and family visits to her daughter in France, China and Hong Kong.

In her later years in Red Bank, she cherished time with her grandchildren, Evelyn Grace, Landess Matthew and Reuben Alexander, as well as her youngest and namesake Naomi Stephanie.

She is survived by husband Robert, daughters Johanna Strobel (Matthew) and Katherine Morrow (Dylan Suher), and four grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. March 3 at the Thompson Memorial Home in Red Bank.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in Stephanie’s memory to The Fund for Alexandria’s Child, which she supported for many years.
