Steven R. Chaney, 68, of Port Monmouth, passed away Sept. 27. Steven was born Dec. 4, 1952, in Red Bank, a son of the late Ann and Renard Cheney. Steven lived in the Bayshore area his entire life. He lived in Highlands and Atlantic Highlands before retiring to Port Monmouth four years ago.

Steven was a picture framer at Gallery Jupiter in Little Silver. He loved his work! When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He was very artistic and enjoyed music. In his younger years, he played drums and was a roadie for the Castle Brown Band in the 1970s. He will always be fondly remembered as a loving and caring gentleman who will be greatly missed.

Steven is survived by his wife of 38 years Kathryn (Doremus) Chaney and his children, Steven F. Chaney, Ryan P. Chaney, Deidre Chaney and Jeri Ann Doremus. He also leaves behind three sisters, Diane Chaney, Carol Deckert and Alberta Chaney; two brothers, Scott Chaney and Danny Chaney; and a granddaughter Elizabeth Chaney.
