Sunnyside Manor Receives ACHCA’s Eli Pick Leadership Award

The team at Sunnyside Manor in Wall, has met the criteria for the 2020 ACHCA (American College of HealthCare Administrators) Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. Only about 7 percent of nursing homes in the country met the quality criteria for this award. ACHCA recognized the Sunnyside Manor team as being one of the top performing skilled nursing facilities in the nation.

The Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award was established in 2008 to recognize Skilled Nursing Facilities for achieving excellence well beyond the Five Star rating system. Criteria are carefully reviewed and updated each year, to assure that top-performing facilities are duly recognized and that the award continues to raise the bar for organizational performance.

This is the sixth year that MaryEllen Keane, administrator of Sunnyside Manor in Wall, and the team were honored with the Eli Pick Facility Award. Based on the premise that facility excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence, she was recognized as the administrator of record who provided that leadership throughout the award year.

This annual award is in memory of Eli Pick who was a consummate member of ACHCA, dedicated to advancing professionalism and leadership in long term care. Pick embodied excellence as an administrator who cared for his residents, their families, and his community.

Sunnyside Manor, which has been owned and managed by the Keane Family for 25 years, expanded and relocated to Wall in 2015. This year the community is celebrating its 100th Anniversary 100 years of care at Sunnyside.
